Back to our routine!

We are back from Thanksgiving break and settling into our normal routine! This week we...
Had Pajama Day!

Received scented bubble prizes for learning to tie our shoes!

In Social Studies we have been learning about the different freedoms our country has. On Monday we learned about the freedom of the press and created our own classroom newspaper!

We also decorated our classroom for Christmas!

I couldn't resist getting a picture of these hardworking students! Handwriting:)
Lastly, this week we had some fun show and tell guests!
A Robot Boy!

And a puppy!

So thankful...

This week was "stuffed" full of creative thankfulness! First we made placemats and wrote a few of the things we are thankful for...

Our next project was to create a banner for the Thanksgiving feast!

Thanks for your room, Mrs. Girod!

We also made Native American headbands to wear to the feast...

This month was our first visit from Mrs. Susan! She plans to come and read to our classes every month through April...so fun!

Lastly, we decorated vests to go along with our headbands!

Thanks to all who helped with and attended the Thanksgiving feast...it was such a blessing!

A Playdough and Paint kind of week!

Last week, on Friday, the Firsties were challenged to use dominos and make the longest racers they could...I think they found that it was not as easy as they thought!

This week the Kinders used playdough and letter stamps during Phonics to practice making short words.
In Social Studies both grades learned about our country and some of our freedoms. We talked about how they used a quill to sign the Declaration of Independence...so we tried using feathers to paint! Not easy to do:)
