Filled with Love!

First thing on Monday morning, the whole school gathered to guess/reveal our RAK people!
Monday afternoon was just as fun...Our Valentine's party!
 A heart craft...

 A delicious snack...

 Valentine Bingo...

 A candy heart relay...

And the grand finale...A Valentine exchange!

Kinders had fun swatting at sight words with Mrs. Girod's class...

They also got to stretch a little while making letters out of their bodies:)

We were able to have recess in the mezzanine all week because of the home-school play...

In Social Studies we started a study of Canada and learned about the Niagara Falls. I've always wanted to try a crayon melting project...here is our rendition of the Falls...

Kinders did some extra Math work...

Lastly, we started a new chapter in Science, the four seasons!
Then we did a collaborative art project...

2 weeks worth of kindness!

We had a crazy couple of weeks! Cancellations, delays, and postponed parties...Here is the recap of the last 2 weeks:
Getting ready for the bake sale...

Learning how storms are formed...cold air pushing warm air...

Continuing to get ready for the bake sale...

Random Acts of Kindness week...the school exploded with kindness! (and post-it notes)
Finally, bake sale day! Thanks, everyone, for all of the help and support!
We raised a lot of money to help out our missionary families!

Spending time at the "kindness station" and spreading cheer:)

First graders learned that salt can help keep us safe in the winter...then they created salt art!

Mrs. Gerber created this mural for the kids stand in...
