What a fun week! To kick-start our week...
We finished up our study of Mexico with a pinata!
Right after that we decorated our paper mache pinatas...
Tuesday was our field trip to the library!
We also learned about a new country...Peru!
And my favorite project...coffee bean art!
Our classroom smelled amazing:)
Wednesday the Firsties played some games...
And wrote about blowing bubbles during Creative Writing...
Lastly, they wrote notes to a veteran who will be going on the Honor Flight next month.
Book swap day!
Kingdom Academy's Kindergarten & First Grade Classroom: Learning - Creating - Experimenting - Playing - and Loving Jesus!
March is Reading Month!
This is my eighth year teaching Kindergarten and First Grade. I feel excited and blessed to able to do what I love! I praise God that I have the love and support of my husband and four children as I head into each new adventure: sharing God's love while instilling the joy of learning in young hearts!
Two more weeks!
I know this will shock you all, but last week I took a grand total of 3 pictures! Needless to say, I made up for it this week:)
The pics from last week show how we finished our study of Canada and made puppets of Canadian animals....
This week we started a study of Mexico!
We talked about mariachi bands, listened to some music sung in Spanish and made our own maracas!
Wednesday was a big day for the Firsties...
We did our Reading on the stage. When the curtains are closed, it's like a giant cave:)
We split into groups of 2 to have Spelling centers...
Lastly, they all finished their stories about George Washington and read them to the class...
Miss Susan was back this week!
During Science we talked about Spring. Planting time! We learned how plants use transpiration to drink water...
Then we put celery into food coloring to see how it works...
