First week of Kindergarten 2021

 

*actually her second day...we ran out of picture time Monday!

We started the week off with a scavenger hunt around the whole school...

Our first painting project...

We also did a scavenger hunt around our classroom...the Firsties helped us out!

During Social Studies, each student showed the class pictures of their own family and friends.

For Handwriting, we read this story about working together...

then we made our own pencil and eraser creations.

We learned about being good "bucket fillers".

We practiced this by making pictures for each other...

And then they delivered them to the buckets!

First Graders learned about good habits during Health this week...

They made a project to help them remember to cover their mouth when they cough or sneeze...

Water-color artists!

During Science we used pipe cleaners to create!

What a wonderful week!

First Week of First Grade!

We had a wonderful first week!

We started off by making some First Grade Books...

My new markers are scented😂

The Firsties organized their book bins with the books of their choice...

then they had their first "Self-Read" time!

On Tuesday we read the book, "My Mouth is a Volcano" and talked about when it's okay to blurt:)

After reading the book, we made our own sort of volcanos!

Wednesday was our first day for Health class.

We learned about growing...and made ourselves grow taller!

We also measured to see how tall we are...without the stilts, of course!

Thursday we practiced making "b's" and "d's", like a bed. We used marshmallows and popsicle sticks to demonstrate... 

We read the story, "Harold and Hog Pretend for Real"...

and played pretend at the end of our day!

Friday, we finished our successful, first week...check out these diligent workers!
