Glitter is Everywhere!

The Kinders started shoe tying this week! Firsties are reviewing, as well as helping the Kinders...

Both grades learned about doctors during Social Studies. We also talked about germs and how they spread.

Then we pretended that our glitter was germs...and everyone knows how glitter spreads😱

We also used the glitter to make art! ...And quite honestly, this is the only time I plan to get the glitter out of our cabinet...that stuff is like a virus, it never leaves!

After learning how important it is for our bodies to get enough rest, the Firsties made some sock puppets to use at bedtime or during some quiet times...

We took a break from handwriting on Thursday, and instead read a book about scribbles...then made our own!

We continued our unit on the five senses during Science. Today was our sense of smell...

Plus, we threw in our sense of taste and of sight by color mixing some juice!

Butterflies and Bees!

During Social Studies we discussed everything we learned at the fire station and police department, then painted fiery pictures...

...and studied our fingerprints, like a detective!

We had some poor luck with our first two caterpillars (one was eaten by the other😱) so Jack brought in a chrysalis for us!

That same morning, it became a butterfly!

In Health, the Firsties learned that exercise helps our bodies stay healthy.

So...we made up our own balloon exercises!

On Thursday, we were able to attend the "Bee Presentation" with the whole school!
