We made it to our 100th day!

We began this week by learning about traveling, during Social Studies. Things have really changed over the years!

Then we put together these airplanes to fly around the gym.
Yes. I realize that fighter jets are not the same as the aircrafts we travel in...but we had fun anyway!

The Firsties celebrated there 100th day of school with lots of 100 projects....
Finding 100 Hershey's Kisses...
Making art with 100 buttons...

Building with 100 popsicle sticks...
Painting 100 fingers onto t-shirts...
Building with 100 cups...

And lastly, making porcupines with 100 toothpicks!

During Writing this week, they used their imaginations to decide how their snowmen would melt...
So clever!
We finished out our week with some science predictions...sink or float?

Re-settling back in:)

We started off our week with a bang...literally! There was a lot of balloon popping when we surprised Mr. Steffen for his 40th birthday!

     Plus cupcakes!

Shells from Florida...inexpensive student gift😂
Social Studies taught us about Abraham Lincoln this week...

We also learned about U.S. Territories. They are all islands, (with beaches) so we made some sand art!

If you look carefully, you'll see that we had a guest for lunch and recess this week...Jake's dad!
Firsties started a unit on safety this week. The most common cause of injuries is falling...random fact:)
We made our own Humpty Dumptys...

A-B-C order!

During Science we learned about our sense of touch.

They felt warm water and then we added ice cubes...big difference!

Lastly, the Firsties have started Creative Writing (my favorite!).
They used their very impressive vocabulary to think of words to describe each other!
