First Week Fun!

We had a great first week! I know it is early, but I can already tell that I have a fantastic Kindergarten class!

Our first day was a whirlwind of getting to know each other and putting away and organizing all of our supplies. We read lots of books and learned some new songs and rhymes. I think the highlight for everyone was when we read about Pete the Cat (Rocking in my School Shoes) and found a note from Pete in the back of the book. The note led us on a scavenger hunt all over the school looking for Pete and meeting all the teachers! We never did find Pete, but he did leave us a coloring page in our classroom:)
At the end of the day we put on our COOL shades and were able to view the solar eclipse with the rest of KA!

Look at these smiles on our first day!

Day 2: We learned about different traits that lead to a happy classroom and
used teamwork to create our "Recipe for Success"!

We've read 3 books about how to be a"bucket filler"and the kids really seem to enjoy doing nice
things for each other...they love putting notes into their friends' buckets!

They put on thinking caps and became little engineers to create things with pipe cleaners!

Lastly, we had some visitors from Biology Class who showed us a dissected worm (gag)
so if your child mentions anything...it wasn't me!

Looking forward to another great week!

Getting ready!

I've had a great time getting our classroom ready! This summer was full of painting, organizing, decorating, and lots of planning. Just for fun I've posted a few photos of our classroom before it becomes lived in😊
