In Math this week, the Kinders learned the length of 1 inch and how to measure with a ruler. I challenged them to find something in our classroom that is 12 inches long...
and something that is one inch...They were very creative in the items they measured!
Kinders also had some "self-read" time...
After learning about the Bahamas during Social Studies, the students tried "snorkeling" and "deep-sea fishing"!They also made pufferfish...
Lastly, for the Bahamas, we learned you should never sit under a palm tree...coconuts!
The Kinders are hard at work practicing their "special sounds"...During Social Studies we've been "traveling" all over the world...so we needed passports!
Firsties have finished their Health unit and will be studying 1st Grade Science for the rest of the year. This week we studied the life cycle of the butterfly, examined a real butterfly and acquired our own caterpillars!
Our combined Science class learned all about worms this week! Life cycle and body parts:)
