Our year is flying by!

This week we traveled to Italy and learned they are famous for the leaning Tower of Pisa, gondolas and pasta!
There are over 140 types of pasta! We used about 6 types to create art work:)

We all know our addresses! The prize for learning them was Wikki Stix!
The Kinders made it all the way to 110 while number sequencing...

In preparation of our field trip to LSM we learned that in Haiti, some poor people eat mud cookies.
So we tried to make some...our dirt is a little different:)

Don't worry, we didn't try them...my potting soil had fertilizer...probably not good to eat:)

Lucky for us, Olivia Moser brought in yummy cookies for us to eat!

First Grade Science taught us how and what butterflies eat....and we made feeders:)
Also in Science this week we learned how impressive elephants are...ask your kids to tell you what a trunk can do!

Thanks for the sweet and gross demonstration! The kids really enjoy it when their dads come in to pray in the mornings!

A good week:)

The Kinders used teamwork to practice addition this week...

Our caterpillars successfully changed into their chrysalis form throughout this week!
So cool!!!! (and a little gross;)
Patiently waiting for the Music Program!
 Or not....
 Our stars....
After learning about Holland in Social Studies, Mrs. Lemmen brought in wooden shoes for the students to try on...

First Grade Science taught us about the parts of plants and we planted our own carrots, onions, and radishes!
In our combined Science class we learned about animal habitats. God made animals so special!

Our Busy, Busy, Week!

This week during our Bible time we started our Resurrection Eggs. Each morning the students found one and we read that part of the story...

We tried Swiss cheese and Swiss chocolate after learning about Switzerland in Social Studies...

Our classroom needed some Easter decor...

 First Grade Health Fair....

First Grade Math...counting out the correct change:)
 Creative Recess...

Field trip to see the play, "Diary of a Worm, Fly, and Spider".

In Science we learned about baby animals that hatch from eggs.
