Presidents, Artists, and Engineers!

Monday was President's Day, so we started our week by discussing why we have this holiday (Washington & Lincoln's Birthdays) and learning some interesting facts about some of our past presidents.
This was also a good excuse to pull out our Lincoln Logs again:)

Here are a few pictures of our class during Reading Centers...

They worked so diligently during Handwriting that I just had to capture the moment! Such focus:)

In Social Studies we are learning about Canada and had fun making maple leaf rubbings and the Canadian flag!

I had a wonderful helper in my class on Tuesday...Des!
  Artists at work....
In Science we learned that friction happens when objects rub against each other. To test this theory we used ramps, cars, and different types of surfaces. Such as...trash bags...
 Paper towels...
 Bubble wrap (two sizes)...
 Aluminum foil and wax paper....
 And lastly, just plain wood...

Random Acts of Kindness Week!

Wow! What a week! We have had a blast thinking of and doing kind things this week. All around the school is evidence of students uplifting other students....

Our class made chocolate cookies and delivered the warm cookies to everyone in school for a random act of kindness!

Of course we had to try our cookie dough!

And our cookies!

We had more fun with Motion in Science this week...Marble Runs!

Our Valentine's Party was a HUGE success! Thanks to all of you moms!!
