Learning about liberty

This week during Social Studies we learned about America's different symbols of freedom... Such as the Statue of Liberty!
 We made Lady Liberty torches...

And did an experiment with pennies, showing why the Statue has turned green....

We have a new building set in our classroom...

 So much fun!

We found out that along with inventing over 300 uses for peanuts, George Washington Carver also came up with over 100 uses for the sweet potato!
 We invented "Sweet Potato Playdough"!

The Firsties made boats after learning about water safety during Health class.

 Our newest reading nook...
Lastly, for this week, in Science we learned about the wind and made some "wind paintings".
